Mind, body and spirit
MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT COURSE
This comprises:
- Spiritual Exploration (one session) - Su Mason
This workshop allow a non-religious experiential exploration into spirituality. We shall look at our spiritual role-models - recognising such people helps us to recognise the very same values within ourselves. We shall then look into what spirit / spirituality means to us. We shall finish the session with a short meditation - a relaxing, spiritual experience. - Nutritional Therapy (three sessions) - Sonia Williams
Many of our health problems are caused because we eat foods that increase our risk of ill health and disease. Bad eating habits can also just leave us feeling uncomfortable and depressed. As a nation, we are at risk of becoming overfed but under-nourished. Nutritional therapy is a safe, natural and effective approach to improving health. It aims to stimulate the body's self-healing ability by providing the correct nutrition for individual needs and cleansing the body of accumulated wastes and toxins. It recognises that each person's needs are unique, depending on a number of factors, from inherited strengths and weaknesses to the influence of diet, lifestyle and environment. The three Nutritional Therapy presentations (‘Keeping a good blood sugar balance’, ‘Foods helpful for chronic illness’ and 'Good Fats, Bad fats' ) explain different aspects of health and risks to health. Advice is given as to what can be done to help, for example, boosting the immune system, and if necessary, where to find more information. - Model of the Mind: Self-Help (one session) - Jean Watson
A way of looking at how the mind works and how you can use self-help strategies to improve your health and well-being. If time allows, we shall discuss how to improve your quality of sleep and look at panic attacks and how to deal with them and prevent them. - Improving Relationships (one session) - Jean Watson
We will look at a range of tips and strategies that have helped many other people to improve their relationships in various settings, for example personal, social, work etc.
