Meditation
MEDITATION - Susan Balmforth, David Goodman
The effect of negative and stressful thinking on our health is now well recognised…dis-ease in the mind can cause disease in the body.
Meditation literally means to heal and can be seen as a way of thinking which promotes healing in the self at the physical, mental, emotional and perhaps most importantly the spiritual level where healing is seen as a return to balance and wholeness.
Thinking is something we do all the time and so we are not doing something fundamentally new in meditation, just changing the focus of our thoughts and the quality of our thinking.
In Raja Yoga meditation, tools and a technique are shared that enable you to become aware of and use, peaceful, positive, loving and strong qualities that are already within you……your true nature!. It then becomes easier to let go of the baggage of negative and wasteful thinking that drains you.
The experience and understanding that comes from meditation is empowering, and brings about a sense of self worth, well-being and inner peace and power. These positive feelings and attitudes promote healing.
The techniques used in meditation include: reflection, contemplation, visualisation, meditation commentary, relaxation & creative exercises.
